On Saturday, October 5, 2013 we realized the completion of our vestibule expansion and new elevator with a ceremony blessing the new additions, Mass and an International Food Festival in the Parish Institute.
Auxiliary Bishop Raymond Chappetto, Vicar General, Pastor of St Kevin's in Auburndale and OLMC class of 1959 was our main celebrant.  Bishop Chappetto blessed the new vestibule which features two new windows, one with the crest of Pope Francis, and the second with the crest of our Bishop of Brooklyn, Nicholas DiMarzio.
The new elevator will assist senior and disabled parishioners to attend Mass in the lower church during the week. The expanded “West Porch” will serve as a larger gathering space between masses. We also doubled the restroom facilities.
Bishop Chappetto was joined by our pastor, Msgr. Sean G. Ogle, V.F; Pastor Emeritus Father Ed Brady; and Parochial Vicars, Father Joseph Pham and Father Peter Nguyen; as well as Father Peter Nwadimkpa who’s been visiting us for the past five summers. We were also very happy to welcome back to his home parish to celebrate his 50th anniversary to the priesthood, Father Joseph Mulligan, S.J. and OLMC class of 1957.  Deacons Manuel Barahona and Ruben Mendez were present as was our newest member of the clergy, Deacon Christopher Heanue, who served as Master of Ceremonies.
After the Mass, an “International Food Fest” reception, organized by the Parish Pastoral Council, was held in the Institute. Food, friendship and fun were in abundance for this happy occasion.
