Alumni News

The Alumni Association of Our Lady of Mount Carmel School has been working on a number of projects in the past few months. Our parish cookbook was published shortly before Christmas and was well received. If you would like a copy, there are still some left at a cost of $10.

Our annual flea market held on September 22nd was extremely successful both for the vendors and the association.  As with all our projects, the money raised is used to assist parishioners wishing to send their children to the neighboring Catholic elementary schools.  At present, there are over forty young people enrolled in the four schools in our area (Most Precious Blood, St. Joseph, Immaculate Conception and St. Francis of Assisi).

Roughly half of them are on scholarship, either from the diocesan scholarship fund (Futures in Education) or from the parish.  Your generosity in our Annual Appeal raised over $2000 for the scholarship fund, as did a parish Mass collection in June.  There is a Mass celebrated each year for the intentions of our benefactors as well those memorialized in the Appeal; this year it will be on November 24that the 11:15 Mass.

Many of the alumni have held reunions recently.  If you are planning a reunion and would like the Alumni Association to help, please let us know.  Membership in the Alumni Association is continuing to grow and for that we are grateful.

If you are not on the Alumni mailing list and would like to be added, just follow the directions below.
