Guidelines for Quinceanera Celebration

We welcome any family that wishes to celebrate their child’s 15 or 16 year old birthday. It is a very important time in the life of a family and we as God’s family want to be present and part of the celebration. As part of the family of the church, the young person is invited to discuss with one of the staff the details of the celebration and to take part in the program for preparation in the parish. The following are the guidelines for those who wish to have a Quinceanera Celebration here at OLMC.
  • The family is to come in and discuss the celebration with one of the parish staff no later than four months prior to the date of the celebration
  • The family of the quinceanera must reside in the parish, or worship here every Sunday.
  • The young person must have already received the three sacraments of initiation (Baptism, Communion, and Confirmation). If the young person has not received one of these sacraments she is to enter into the parish religious education program immediately and prepare to receive that sacrament.
  • The young person and family must attend a number of conferences given in the parish on various religious topics. (dates to be given upon meeting the priest)
  • The young person must do at least 10 hours of Christian service prior to the celebration.
